Kim’s love for photography started long before she picked up her first camera. Her dad had a collection of cameras and lenses and during her years growing up he would take photographs of the family adventures along the Eastern Sierra from Owens Valley to Lake Almanor.
Kim started taking photographs when her son was wrestling in the sixth grade. For the following seven years she would photograph his dual meets, tournaments and clinics. She quickly learned how to capture intense moments of blood, sweat, and tears of the athletes.
Kim dabbled in nature and wildlife photography during those years especially when traveling to Carson Valley to visit family. Kim would photograph and document road trips taken with her husband…and on a long road trip to North Carolina with her mom and niece to adopt a rescue puppy! Kim really started showing an interest in capturing the spirit of the American West in 2017.
Kim lives in Carson Valley with her husband James. She spends a lot of time searching for subjects to photograph. She likes to step outside the box with her editing and constantly challenges herself to produce new and unique images.
Kim has been recognized for her work internationally and has been published in Cowboys & Indians Magazine, Nevada Magazine, Tahoe Quarterly and Birds & Blooms. She has also received numerous awards for her photography.
You can find her work in over a dozen stores and restaurants in Carson Valley and Carson City.
